Summary on Grant Application Form |
The project will research the design of novel high speed permanent magnet machines which perform the dual role of producing torque while also acting as an active magnetic bearing system for the drive. It will encompass the electromagnetic design synthesis, and analysis of the machine, the derivation of a system dynamic model and the development of novel control system strategies. The results of the project will be embodied in a technology demonstrator system.
