Summary on Grant Application Form
Devolatilisation and char combustion tests will be undertaken at conditions which closely match those in pulverised fuel combustion using (a) a high-temperature wire-mesh apparatus, (b) a turbulent flat-flame burner and (c) a high temperature entrained flow reactor. Particular emphasis will be placed on cross-referencing data between the tree techniques and comparison with larger scale rigs and plant trials. Results will contribute to the proposed collaborative project Coal effects on NO for PF Combustion.
