Summary on Grant Application Form |
The primary activity is the recoding and evaluation of well documented software written primarily in C, but some in C++, using the class hierarchy defined in IUE Release v1.1. The existing software encodes algorithms for computer vision which have been published in the journal and conference literature. Documentation is a second vital activity. We intend to use a method for simultaneous production and documentation of code. This may use Tex as a formal package, or the 'weaving/untangling' approach of Noweb, as discussed in the case for support and in consultation with other sites. Finally, we must evaluate the new software. This builds on existing knowledge and testing of our algorithms, ensuring corresponding behaviour in the IUE environment and comparing performance with our original source code and if appropriate with other code provided. We must co-ordinate our activity with the central (Manchester) and other spoke sites to ensure the consistent implementation and documentation of code.
