Summary on Grant Application Form |
The synthesis of new group 8, 9, and 10 metal complexes of the symmetrical tri-phosphorus macrocycles based upon the 12ane - P3 core will be investigated. Complexes of potential interest in homogeneous catalysis will be studied as will reactions of the new complexes to give organometallic, hydrido and low oxidation state derivatives and their reactivity with small molecules; possible catalytic behaviour will be determined. Ligand derived influences ion reactivity and structure will be investigated including the detailed study of solution dynamic properties of trialkyl (12ane-P3R3) ligands. Routes to pendant donor homologues and complexes will be developed and the reaction chemistry and solution dynamics investigated. The new 12ane-P3R3 ligands will be applied to the formation of tertiary phosphine complexes of electropositive metals including those in group 4 and F-elements.
