Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Reading group has recently extended its inertial confinement (field ionisation, Coulomb explosion) model to take account of the spatial and temporal profile of the laser beam. The success of the model in explaining the earlier data on diatomic molecules, including our most recent results using the interferrometric control of laser pulse profile, calls for more sophisticated experiment and others on coherent control will, we hope, allow us to produce a detailed and useful approach to the modelling pf the dynamics of the multielectron dissociative ionization process.
