|
This proposal aims to resolve the remaining technical barrier which hinder a more widespread integration of photovoltaic systems into utility supply networks. The specific issues which area to be addressed focus on island operation and the interaction between multiple inverters. The work will be carried out using the DTI Exemplar Photovoltaic system for Test and Development which is being constructed by the applicants.The proposed research covers the following specific areas: Fault infeed and directional protection, Interaction between inverters, External switching, Islanding, New detection and disconnection devices, Development of an impedance measuring system for island protection, Module integrated converter, New ways of network integration including demand side management.
