|
The research is in the new and rapidly developing area of Mathematics: Vassiliev type invariants of plane curves.The major aim is the definition of the Legendrian lowering of te HOMFLY and Kauffman link polynominals to plane fronts (that is cooriented curves wtih cusps) entirely in terms of geometry of plane curves. We would also like to show that the coefficients of the lowered polynominals are in a sense Vassiliev type invariants of fronts.The work is expected to provide new bounds on the Bennequin invariant (self linking number) of Legendrian knots in the standard contact 3-space and solid torus.
