Summary on Grant Application Form
The research seeks to extend the resource based view of strategic management into manufacturing by exploring the processes whereby firms develop dynamic capabilities. The empiracal focus will be upon uncovering those organisational routines which enable firms to review and revise their manufacturing capabilities. This methodology will be developed and tested to assist managers in the development of routines which promote organisational learning. In contrast to current popular imitative manufacturing strategies e.g. WCM, this methodology will address the processes underpinning the development of firm specific capabilities and competencies.
