|
If small and medium sized contractors are to survive and prosper, they must become more innovative. The problem is one of cultural change.A programme of Action Learing is proposed for use with construction SMEs ro encourage a culture of 'real improvement' and innovation . Two action learning sets involving 12 construction SMEs, with other industry disciplines and clients, will be brought together to share problems and seek innovative ways of working in their own businesses.A portfolio of exemplary innovative practices will be develop for use by the action learning sets. The work of the sets will be formally evaluated. An action learning training package will be designed for use by the CIOB and others. Training and case study material will be made available in a conventional published form and for the internet.
