We are bidding for money with which to buy high performance generic DSP hardware that will then be customised and integrated into a testbed for audio-visual communications. We currently have AV capture, storage and playback equipment procured through past EPSRC and industrial funding. The utilisation of this equipment will be significantly enhanced with the provision of a real-time testbed. The testbed is to be designed for use in system prototyping, subjective assessment of performance in different practical connection scenarios etc. Such a testbed should also be a useful assessment tool for any future scenarios.
