Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed research is a fundamental study of exotic new materials with the potential to form part of a smart material element, in the full meaning ie. to sense and respond appropriately to external loading (hydrostatic pressure) The target applicaion is the control of buoyancy to assist in underwater operations to provide neutral buoyancy at any depth, The specific application are in ROVs AUVs and the mainenance of subsea installations.
