Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposal is concerned with an extension of EPSRC's Special Grant to the IRC in Polymer Science and Technology to complete the ten year period of funding originally envisaged. The research is spread between five themes concerned with polymer processing, electroactive polymers, polymer matrix composites, polymer surfaces and interfaces and polymers of novel topology. The main themes are supported by a core of theoretical and experimental competencies spread over three universities. The funding provided by EPRSC stimulates gearing by a factor of about two contributions by the parent universities, industry and other agencies. New science and technologies arise via this process.
