Summary on Grant Application Form
Gamma titanium aluminde offers considerable attraction to the aero engine industry through weight reduction, performance improvement and lower operating costs. It has half the density of nickel alloy materials. Fundamental studies of relevant manufacturing process - casting/melting and machining will be performed to build a data-base of knowledge on which to establish a competitive position in world markets.
