Summary on Grant Application Form
Studies will be directed to developing interfaces for capillary electrochromatography-mass spectrometry (CEC-MS) using an ion trap mass spectrometer. Interfaces for electrospray and atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation will be developed . The ion trap mass spectrometer will provide a lower cost detector for CEC with high sensitivity and the ability to perform MSn studies for the differentiation of isomers. Investigations of the potential of orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight oa-TOF mass spectrometry for CEC-MS will be initiated. Together with these studies, the utility of various i.d. columns packed with small i.d. particles and chiral phases for CEC would be investigated
