Summary on Grant Application Form |
This research is centred on the interface between the design and manufacture phases of the product life cycle. The issues which are to be researched stem from the greater fluency in the overall design process which follows from the use of data model driven methods. In addition, the requirement imposed by global manufacturing will be accommodated by working closely with our collaborators, who have multi-site, multi-national, design and manufacturing commitments. This work will make a significant first contribution to the research required to allow concurrent engineering based design to fully support the manufacturing phase of the product life cycle.
