We request funds to purchase and install a Siemens SMART CCD area detector 4-circle diffractometer, with low temperature facilities and associated computing hardware and software in order to maintain a service facility for the Department of Chemistry. A survey of relevant research activities in the Department is provided. The service will be supported by the requested provision of a full-time technician and will be supervised by Dr S.L.Heath.
