Summary on Grant Application Form |
Vehicle telematics will provide one of the key differentiators for future vehicles, from the perspectives of users, service providers, component suppliers, vehicle operators and vehicle manufacturers. To enhance vehicle manufacturing and telematic industrial competitiveness and for the UK to be one of the major players in terms of design, manufacture and service provision, it is important that the industry is continuously ware of global technology trends and that new telematic products are introduced by the UK industry with increasing frequency and the shortest possible lead times. The TARM project provides a unique opportunity to support these goals by providing an overview of telematic applications in terms of time to market, cost of implantation and impact on manufacturing processes and procedures. The project will develop a method of determining the technologies required in terms of current status, future development and manufacturing capabilities of telematic systems.
