Summary on Grant Application Form |
Emulsion of polymerisation will be used to synthesis a series of polymer particle dispersions in solvents covering a wide polarity range in order to vary the particle interactions in a systematic way. The consequences of this on the physical states and morphologies of the mm sized particle systems will be explored using rheology and particle sizing techniques. The redispersability of the sedimented systems will be explored with shear mixing and colloidal dynamics computer simulation to provide a more complete understanding of the role played by particle interactions on dispersion processing in its widest sense.
