Summary on Grant Application Form |
Cost-effective exploitation of the ever-growing computational power available within single corporations and among geographically distributed computing resource providers is of central interest for tomorrows Information Society. However, existing approaches are unable to address this key High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN) issue. This is mainly because they are unable to predict the cost of running complex application in a context sensitive way. We therefore propose to investigate state-of-the-art intelligent techniques forcorporate scale resources context sensitive performance modelling. We will study its combination with novel parallel scheduling approaches. The project will aim at providing a proof of a constructive perfomance estimation concept.
