Summary on Grant Application Form |
Display makers have neglected liquid crystal effects other than twisted nematic modulation because it is so good with divergent white light. But monochromatic and collimated illumination can be used if a screen subsequently converts this to divergent colour. Under these conditions some previously neglected effects promise high scales of multiplexing: this project will show that these can be used to make high resolution passive displays.
