The aim is to demonstrate the scientific and technical viability of low pressure CCVDe method to produce non-oxide films. Non-oxide films based on model materials of sulphide and selenide (CdS, CdSe and CdSSe) will be investigated. This will involve the modification of the existing CCVDs equipment to facilitate the study of microstructure, composition, coating adhesion and photoconduction properties of sulphide and selenide films as a function of processing conditions. The quality of these films will be compared to those deposited using CVD and PVD methods. The basic science developed in study will widen the range of materials and scope of applications of the emerging CCVDe coating technology pioneer by the applicant.
