Summary on Grant Application Form |
Funding is requested for travel, subsistence and consumables costs to enable use of beamline X12B at the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS) at Brookhaven National Laboratory in the USA. The work will exploit small angle X-ray scattering (SAXA) to characterise the structure of organic soft solids and follow their crystallisation in-situ as a function of temperature, shear/mixing, growth solvent and reactant composition. The research can be expected to have significant impact in many commercial areas such as the petrochemical, biochemical, food, pharmaceutical and soap industries.
