|
The project is designed to test a theory of business success. This theory holds that a variety of strategic and operational means exist to allow companies to appropriate value from supply chains, but that the end of business strategy is always the same. This end is to own and/or control those resources in supply chains which allow for the maximum leverage of value. The means available to companies to achieve success will, however, vary dependent on the structure of the supply chains and markets within which they operate. This project seeks to specify what are the properties of different types of supply chains and how companies can manage these properties for business success under dynamic and contingent circumstances. Having specified their properties the operational task will be to develop audit tools and techniques to allow practitioners to align their strategic end and operation means externally.
