Summary on Grant Application Form |
This project aims to develop a manufacturing planning tool capable of assessing the implications for competence deployment and development. The tool will be designed for use by airframes' manufacturers within the Aerospace sector. It will however have application across the sector. The project will address macro issues influencing the potential structures of the sector including economic, geographical and technological. Micro issues at company level will also be considered including the development of specific technical and managerial competencies. The manufacturing planning tool will help companies link both macro and micro perspectives. The emphasis on process and internalisation is central to the Manufacturing Foresight recommendation, while improved understanding of international networks is highlighted as a key issues by the industry.
