Summary on Grant Application Form |
We propose to study the design of a new generation of environmental gas and odour sensors based on silcon-insulator technolgy. An SoI CMOS process is likely to beone the standard manufactuing route for chips within the next 5 years and we need and we need to exploit this to make high temperature, micropower, smart resistaive and FET sensors. The low process costs should make this suitable for hand-held pollution/odour monitors or with automobiles, buildings, etc.
