Summary on Grant Application Form |
This Network partnership combines and excellent grouping of academic, consultant and developer partners as well as manufacturing partners across a wide range of industrial sectors. These sectors include off-road and agricultural vehicles, automotive, and on-road trucks, buses and heavy vehicles; covering the spectrum of non-rail land vehicles. Different emphasis on transmission development has taken place in each of these sectors but there are many common features across the whole range. There are four areas of technical activity which the prospective partners of the Network have discussed and produced as a priority list for immediate concentration of common interest which are - Control, System Design, Derivability, Modelling and Simulation. The integration of activities will enable a rapid spread of both existing and new techniques with benefits for the manufacturing base by enhances product technology. This industrial mix contributes to the inter-disciplinarily which is also obtained through the planned cross-linking with other groups, as well as in the technical research activities of the partners.
