Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposal is to establish an EPSRC Network for research in forging and related technology. This will comprise 13 university research groups, reflecting materials science and engineering disciplines, and NPL. Tow industry groups, the CBF and the BCFG are also part of the network and this approach will enable flexible interaction with a wide range of industrial companies including OEMs as required for particular collaboration. The main technological trusts are to be net shaping, workpiece materials and IT applications (including modelling) and the network will be organised into corresponding Cluster Groups to effect collaborative research, technology transfer and training between the academic researchers and also with industry.
