Summary on Grant Application Form |
Materials modelling is a complex subject not easily accessible to newcomers or to those who simply wish to apply the work. Publications never include detailed algorithms. During the past three years we have created an electronic library accessible freely via the world wide web. The library contains documented computer programs, and elementary subroutines and functions together with materials data. This has been used throughout the world to reproduce, apply and develop published work. There has been an impressive dissemination of knowledge. The major objective of the present proposal is to request funding for an additional twelve months in order to make the project self-sustaining via a high degree of automated submission of material suitable for the materials algorithms library. It is also intended to include C in addition to FORTRAN.
