Summary on Grant Application Form
Many non-automated tasks in medicine and industry are facilitated by a subject's ability to discriminate by colour. Performance at such tasks can be improved by increasing the colour difference. This projects is concerned with developing viewing-systems that increase colour differences.A series of viewing systems, of increasing complexity, utilising lamps, coloured filters and polarisers will be developed. Software will be developed for designing viewing systems optimised for a particular colour-discrimination task. The software will be evaluated using a series of model problems.
