Summary on Grant Application Form |
Systematic electron microscopic studies will be undertaken at Reading University of various metallocene - catalysed polyethylene samples prepared at Leeds University in the EPSRC project Preparation, Structure, Properties and Modelling of Oriented Polymers . The lamellar and higher order structures (eg spherulites and their lagacy) will be characterised in the initial materials as functions of molecular parameters and pretreatment conditions and therefore at appropriate stages of preparation of very highly oriented materials via different routes. It is intended that, as in previous collaboration, this information will be used by Leeds to help optimise their products and production processes.
