Summary on Grant Application Form |
The object of the proposal is to combine the surface science expertise and earlier research findings (GR/H 95174) of Greenwich with the soil washing/processing capability and expertise of Nottingham. The focus of the project is to evaluate the application of the poloxamer family of block copolymeric surfactants to a variety of proposed in situ and ex situ remediation schemes of authentic coal tar contaminated soil samples. Such soil samples are of immense environmental concern since they contain a heterogeneous mixture which can provide important components of surface and groundwater pollution.
