Summary on Grant Application Form |
A trial anemometer mast is to be installed offshore late in 1998. This will be founded on a suction caisson. Use of a suction caisson in dense sand in shallow water is a new departure. The project will involve installation of instrumentation on the structure to measure the performance of the foundation. A load cell will measure the applied loads, and the response in terms of pore pressures and tilt will be measured. Data will be transferred ashore by remote telemetry.
