Summary on Grant Application Form |
ROPA -This proposal is concerned with a novel way of heterogenisation of homogeneous catalyst. It involves creation of tiny supported surfactant micelles on a solid surface in order to carry microscopic water droplets which in turn contain a homogeneous catalyst for biphasic catalysis in a bulk organic solvent. Thus, heterogenisation of homogeneous catalysts are accomplished through the water droplet immobilisation but without anchoring the catalysts directly. It is envisaged that catalysis will occur within the small surfactant assemblies as Nano-reactors.
