|
The project concerns the structure of simple algebraic groups and related finite groups, with particular attention to products of conjugacy classes and behaviour of double cosets of certain subgroups. These will be studied in relation to the objectives listed above. The Investigator and visiting Fellow will work together, combining their expertise. The VF has worked on closely related problems over the field of complex numbers. His experience will be invaluable in positive characteristic, where the problems are different and harder.
