Summary on Grant Application Form
The projects seeks to establish the relationship between measurements in low fields of the Paramagnetic Meissner Effect, and in high fields of the kinetic and magnetic properties of the mixed state of high-Tc superconductors. We plan also to connect these studies with the vortex nucleation mechanism proposed recently. Based on this mechanism it is proposed to calculate the critical current and the critical temperature of the vortex lattice melting and compare the calculations with existing experimental data. This investigation and comparison with experiments may confirm the proposed vortex nucleation mechanism, which will clarify the process of the vortex melting and the puzzling fishtail effect as well as the universal XY model scaling laws of all these phenomena. This study will provide a detailed physical picture of the wide range of phenomena in high-Tc superconductors in magnetic field related to the vortex loops generation.
