Summary on Grant Application Form |
In Sub-project D, the first task will be to carry out a review of the behaviour of solid phases in multiphase hydrocarbon flow systems, and related simpler systems. Subsequently, some relatively simple basic work in the area will be carried out; this could include simple flow tests using air-water flows with sand particles (as being representative of typical solid phases) in an existing 20m long apparatus. Of particular importance are the conditions in which transport of the solid material is possible. In addition, some simple bench scale tests might be carried out under more representative conditions.
