Summary on Grant Application Form |
In the work proposed under Sub-project A, predictor-corrector methods for the solution of the multi-fluid model equations will be investigated. An existing research code (TRIOMPH) will be used as a bench mark for the new methods. In addition, work will be carried out on 3-dimensional modelling of flug flow with the aim of developing improved closure laws for these flows for use in the 1-dimensional codes. Under Sub-project B, it is proposed methodologies for predicting 3-phase slug flows be developed, following the framework already developed for 2-phase flows. Here, mixing processes between the two liquid phases are likely to be important.
