Summary on Grant Application Form
The main topics of the workshops are connected with most promising recent developments of the theory of dynamical systems. A progress in analysis of non- uniformly hyperbolic systems gives a hope that such a long standing problems as chaos in Hamiltonian dynamics can be tackled mathematically. Another important circle of problems is connected with Arnold's diffusion and Nehoroshev's estimates. There are recent promising developments in this area which might lead to new understanding of the phenomenon. Other topics include one-dimensional and complex dynamics, where in spite of much progress in the last 10 years there are still many open fascinating problems, quantum chaos, space-time chaos and turbulence. The last two topics form important links between dynamical systems and mathematical physics.
