Summary on Grant Application Form |
NMR of fluorinated gases will be developed as a new means of characterising the pore structure of cement pastes with a view to wider eventual study of engineering cement based materials and other porous structures. Specific questions to be addressed include the connectivity of the pore space, the origin of the gas in capillary voids, and the anomalously low pore size as revealed by liquid phase NMR relaxomtry, restricted diffusometry and cryo-porometry.
