Summary on Grant Application Form
Using the accumulated experience and expertise of the three applicants we propose to design, synthesise, test, improve and characterise in atomic detail a variety of new solid catalysts required for a wide range of significant reactions, especially:i) selective oxidations of alkanes, alkenes and ketones, so as to form long-chain alcohols and acids, epoxides and lactones.ii) selective hydrogenation of high-activity, high-durability (sinter-free) bimetallic nano-catalysts based on Ruiii) Allylic animation using specially devised organometallic chiral catalysts, based on his diphenyl phosphino-ferrocene anchored within mesoporous silica.
