Summary on Grant Application Form
The overall aim of the proposal is to carry out the enabling science that will allow for a better understanding of the microwave power handling problem, enhance the microwave power handling performance and reliability of practical HTS materials for high power applications. We suggest a variety of materials science modifications to composition and film growth processes to improve the microwave properties. In order to fully understand the impact of these modifications we need to study the microwave power handling by comparing the performance using a range of dynamic probes. The setting up of these probes is part of the programme.
