Summary on Grant Application Form |
The preparative-scale separation of organic and inorganic molecules from mixtures continues to be a pressing problem in contemporary chemistry. The problem of separation becomes amplified when the analytes are chemically very similar such as enantiometric pair in which the two molecules possess chemically identified functionality. We propose to prepare new lamellar inorganic materials which have the potential utility in preparative-scale separation science by combining principles from both solid state and molecular chemistry.
