Summary on Grant Application Form |
Exploit the GREAT spectrometer using the stable beam accelerator facilities at Jyvaskyla and GSI Darmstadt. The focus of the research will be to study the rotational and single particle energy levels, and transition moments, of transfermium nuclei and medium mass nuclei near the proton drip line, using methods of alpha and proton decay, conversion electron, beta decay and gamma-ray spectroscopy. An important part of this work is to build and commission the GREAT spectrometer which is used in conjunction with a recoil separator and gamma-ray array provided by other members of the international collaboration.
