Summary on Grant Application Form |
Professor Sekimura will collaborate with the Dundee and Oxford math-biology groups to develop mechanical and chemical models of spatio-temporal pattern formation. This will involve non-linear ODEs, PDEs, non-linear elasticity theory and finite element analysis. The models will be applied to deformation of cell walls in soft fruits with Dr G. Bengough (SCRI), amoeboid cell wall deformation with Dr C. Weijer (UD) and pattern formation on butterfly wings with Dr A. Wathen (Oxford).
