Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposal seeks to extend the abilities of the Thermofluids Section to measurement of instantaneous planar images of velocity of gas and particulate phases, combined with simultaneous measurement of droplet size and concentration, local fuel equivalence ratio and location and local stretch rage of flame reaction zones and liquid interfaces with reference to applications such as internal combustion engines, gas turbines and industrial burners, electrostatic precipitators and bubbly flows among other applications. The equipment requested consists of a dual cavity / dual pulse ND/YAG laser and two types of intensified CCD cameras.
