Summary on Grant Application Form |
Strategic plans for the management of our coasts rely implicitly upon an understanding of the physical processes responsible for shaping coastal morphology. Predictive models used in current practice are usually employed in a deterministic fashion and do not forecast accurately the variability likely to be experienced in real situations. We wish to develop techniques that:- address this deficiency;- have a sound and rigorous mathematical basis and- that will be accessibel to those with a responsibility in coastal management.
