This training package will help to meet the need of UK industry for trained scientists and engineers in the field of corrosion and its control to enhance the flexibility of available training and to offer a series of modules at master's level for professionals in a wide range of disciplines and industries. The main aim is to provide training to master's level for at least 18 (increasing to 24) full-time equivalent students per year, with a range of full-time and part-time attendance, some strudents will proceed to the MSc degree while others will take fewer modules, leading to Certificates or Diplomas as appropriate. The training package will be delivered by a research-led department, rated 5* in the last RAE. In the initial 5year period of the training package the course will be continuously improved and developed a key objective is to increase industrial participation in master's level training by re-styled methods of teaching.
