Summary on Grant Application Form |
In this project will combine the techniques of quantum kinetics with those of mean field theory of condensates to produce a combined simulation technique for studying structure formation in condensing gases. Quantum kinetic theory developed in New Zealand has been tested and proved accurate for describing condensate growth in experiments to date. We want to combine in with the computational techniques developed in Oxford to describe the initiation and growth of structure in condensed formed in future experiments. This will be used for looking at the limits of phase coherence in atom-laser sources.
