Summary on Grant Application Form |
This research will deliver an optimum contract strategy for the delivery of operational facilities. The new strategy will provide the framework for separate businesses, including at least the client, designer, project manager, contractor and end users, to act as a single unified organisation. This unified team is the foundation stone for truly integrated design and construction. The research will investigate and analyse the lessons learned by our industrial partners working with the process industries, distill these lessons into a generic strategy model, trial the strategy on live projects and disseminate the model to the wider construction industry.A particular innovation of the project is a peer review college consisting of senior staff from Kvaerner for continuous evaluation of the project outputs and to ensure maximum value is obtained from the investment.
