Summary on Grant Application Form
This MTP seeks to widen the expertise base of graduates studying Medical Diagnostics, by encouraging the entry of engineering and physical science graduates into the appropriate advanced level training, thereby developing the skills and outlook needed by healthcare providers/industry to take clinical diagnostic practices forward. It addresses two of the stated EPSRC healthcare priority themes, namely to provide training relevant to the development of advanced medical equipment and novel diagnostic equipment. Specifically, this MTP broadens the scope, appeal and accessibility of masters level training in Medical Diagnostics offered by Cranfield University by: (a) designing developing, marketing and delivering three new module options entitled: Bioinformatics in medical diagnostics; Surface science in the design and production of medical diagnostic devices; and finally Biomedical science for engineers and physical scientists; (b) redefining two current modules on the MSc in Medical Diagnostics entitled: Advanced instrument based diagnostic technologies and: Information and Information technology based diagnostic and (c) increasing accessibility to participants through financial support.
